Flat gaskets made from TFM™ (modified PTFE) are high quality gaskets which are mainly used in the chemical and food industry.
The gaskets have also proven themselves regarding eco-friendliness, health considerations and due to their excellent handling.
The almost universal resistance against chemicals and solvents is another special feature of these gaskets.
Excellent properties in comparison to non-modified PTFE are the considerably reduced deformations under load even at increased temperatures and the reduction of the gas and vapour permeability due to a less porous homogeneous structure.

Basic material for the flat gasket is the modified cold flow reduced TFM 1600 by Dyneon. The gasket also has an inner and outer eyelet (1.4571). This encloses the PTFE when installed and prevents a pressing out in the tongue and groove area.

PTFE flat gasket from unfilled virginal PTFE »

The flat gasket/seal plate is made of pure virginal PTFE, a cost-favourable alternative for use
in environments with low mechanical stress and low pressure-temperature load.
The gasket is highly resistant to practically all chemicals except for fluorines, halogenoxides,
molten and dissolved alkali metals.
It is available as a plate and die-cut gasket as per DIN EN 1514-1 and in other usual dimensions
as well as in special-purpose dimensions.

PTFE - UNIFLUOR flat gaskets

The universal flat gasket material allows pressure / temperature combinations which are beyond those of pure or fibre reinforced PTFE.
The materials have high elastic recovery strength as well as a good chemical resistance. (resistance is slightly limited due to the filler).
Good sealing properties are achieved even at low surface compression.

The special manufacturing process creates the multi-directional fibre structure which gives those seals the special properties.
