In September, we celebrated our double anniversary at our production site in Annaberg-Buchholz. Around 1,000 guests and visitors came to experience our special history and turn the celebration into an extraordinary event.

“It is a remarkably chapter of German economic history, marked by great courage and foresight,” said Thomas Popp, State Secretary for Digital Administration and Administrative Modernization at the Saxon State Chancellery, in his laudatory speech. ”You have greatly contributed to the economic strength of the country and continue to do so.”

Popp highlighted IDT's commitment to research and development for the hydrogen economy, which the company is driving forward with its own research division and as a member of the “H2 – Antrieb für Sachsen” [H2 – Drive for Saxony] initiative.

“Even though many German manufacturers are leaving our country in search of seemingly better conditions elsewhere, we remain loyal to our roots,“ said Simone Wilson, CEO of IDT, in her welcoming address. „We believe in 'Made in Germany',” underlined Wilson, who is the second generation to lead the company, which was founded by her father Wolfgang Notter in Essen 40 years ago.

Notter took over the production plant in Annaberg, where Facius & Schober had been producing automotive gaskets since 1924, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and has continuously modernized and expanded it.

“What we develop and supply are products for tight connections in industrial plants and components. Without our gaskets, technological progress, economic success, and a climate-neutral future aren't possible,” Wilson emphasized.
