TFM™ 1600? We’ve got it. And the alternatives too.

News · · ·

Some changes take shape over time and still catch you off guard. The decision by 3M/Dyneon to discontinue TFM™ 1600 is exactly that kind of shift.

TFM™ 1600 has long been a go-to material in the German chemical industry: specified, proven, trusted. Its gradual withdrawal from the market now puts many of you in a tight spot. Because swapping out technical specifications isn’t simple. Not without thorough testing, formal approvals, and solid operational experience.

Meanwhile, we’re seeing some market players already switching to substitute materials – sometimes mid-application, sometimes without documented approvals. That’s bold – or risky.

We planned ahead. So you don’t have to improvise. #

We took your needs seriously early on and acted before the pressure hit. That’s why we can still supply you with TFM™ 1600, TFM™ 4105, and other Dyneon materials through at least mid-2026.

What this means for you:

  • No panic-driven decisions
  • No hasty material swaps
  • No risk from missing data or approvals

Offering alternatives means understanding them. #

INOFLON® M295, DAIKIN® MG3 MOD-FF/HD – we know them, we use them, we test them. But we don’t treat them as equivalents by default. Because a substitute is only a substitute once we understand how it performs in your application over time.

What our tests show:

What we bring to the table:

  • Test data in line with EN 13555 for key seal types
  • In-house processing experience
  • Long-term performance insights from real-world projects

What we won’t do:

  • Equate what isn’t technically equivalent
  • Recommend what isn’t approved
  • Compromise your operational safety

What are the options?

Many of you are navigating real pressure: limited supply, rigid specs, sensitive processes. We get that. And we don’t respond with buzzwords but with technical expertise, clarity, and decades of industry know-how.

If you're bound to a specification

We’ll ensure you stay supplied – with original Dyneon materials like TFM™ 1600 and TFM™ 4105 – until at least mid-2026. That gives you the time and confidence to plan transitions properly.

If you're free to switch material

We’ll guide your move with proven alternatives, reliable data, and expert advice tailored to your application. INOFLON®, DAIKIN®, and others are already in use. Always tested, never rushed.

How we support you

  • Up-to-date availability insights
  • Practical, engineering-level material guidance
  • Assistance with validation, testing, and process changes

Let’s talk before pressure turns into problems.
