Für viele Unternehmen wirkt diese Nachricht zunächst wie ein endgültiger Schritt. Tatsächlich markiert sie jedoch einen wichtigen Zwischenstand im Verfahren.
🥼 Der RAC erfüllt seine zentrale Aufgabe: die rein wissenschaftliche Bewertung der Risiken für Mensch und Umwelt.
🏭 Nun rückt die sozioökonomische Analyse in den Fokus.
Hier geht es um eine entscheidende Frage: Wie verhältnismäßig sind mögliche Beschränkungen. Auch im Hinblick auf ihre sozial-wirtschaftlichen und industriellen Auswirkungen?

🧪 PFAS regulation: An important step — but not the last.
This week, the European Chemicals Agency Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) adopted its opinion on the #PFAS restriction proposal.
For many companies, this may initially feel like a final decision.
In reality, it marks an important milestone in an ongoing process.
🥼 The RAC is responsible for the scientific assessment of risks to human health and the environment.
🏭 The focus now shifts to the Socio-Economic Analysis Committee (SEAC).
This raises a key question:
Would potential restrictions be proportionate also in terms of their economic and industrial impact?
To support this evaluation, the second public consultation will begin at the end of the month.
