Flange Expansion Joint [with self-sealing flanges]

  • Article Number: 2300KP10
  • Material: 2300
  • Profile: KP10

Fabric expansion joints are flexible connecting elements in pipeline and duct systems that compensate for movements, vibrations and stresses. They are made of heat- and chemical-resistant fabrics and are mainly used in industry [e.g. power plants]. Fabric expansion joints improve the service life of pipe systems, reduce noise and enable flexible adaptation to thermal expansion and mechanical loads.

This expansion joint is suitable for use for large dimensions or pre-existing pipeline flanges, higher pressures, and high technical tightness requirements.

Due to the inferior heat radiation in the attachment area, operating temperatures should not extend 450 °C to 500 °C. With the use of larger flanges, the expansion joint can be placed further outward [away from the flow of the medium], and additionally protected by another insulation or retrofitted insulation. This allows for operating temperatures between 600 °C and 650 °C.
